What is it?
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common cyber attacks. TechQuarters are UK Government Cyber Essentials accredited and have key focus on all our clients having the right policies and security standards in place to protect against attacks.
The Cyber Essentials scheme has been developed by Government. It provides a clear statement of the basic controls all organisations should implement to mitigate the risk from common internet based threats, within the context of the Government’s 10 Steps to Cyber Security.
In addition, through the Assurance Framework it helps organisations to demonstrate to customers, investors, insurers and others that they have taken these essential precautions. The Government believes that implementing these measures can significantly reduce an organisation’s vulnerability.
However, it is not a silver bullet to remove all cyber security risk; for example, it is not designed to address more advanced, targeted attacks and therefore additional measures such as EMS and FWaaS should be part of the overall security risk mitigation plan.
We perform Cyber Security Health Check Assessments highlighting your Cyber Risk, the Gap Analysis (indicating the potential legal risk, such as GDPR) and Business critical security issues that need actioning to secure your environment to optimum levels.
Our Health Check assesses your network and produces detailed reports indicating areas of weakness in security and grouping the level of risk in your business. It looks at your Identity Management, Apps and Data, Device Control and Infrastructure, reporting on all these areas for risk.
How does it work?
TechQuarters install the assessment tool on your network. It then gathers the information and details all the findings in comprehensive reports. We then discuss the findings and the implications with you, make recommendations, and jointly decide the next steps to protect and secure your network both in the short and long term.
The firewall is a Comprehensive Gateway Security – an all-in-one network protection that combines gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware intrusion prevention, application intelligence and control, content filtering and 24X7 support. It is a powerful Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliance and each appliance bundles all hardware and services needed for comprehensive UTM network protection from a wide range of emerging network threats.
