The Mission

Roedean Exchange server was nearing end of life and becoming difficult to support internally. Roedean were made aware that Office 365 was free from education, so wanted to investigate how it would integrate with existing network. It a speedy transition time for all 800 mailboxes was imperative.

What did we do

TechQuarters aim was move all 600 students and 200 Faculty across to the A2 Plan. Roedean’s key concern was the variety of devices that the school used, iPhones, Blackberries, Androids, Mac’s and PC’s and how Office 365 would integrate. We standardised Roedean’s PC’s and Mac’s to Office 2013 and set-up all devices to receive emails over active sync and decommissioned existing Exchange server and Blackberry server.

To improve internal process we created multiple mailboxes so they book out resources such as the theatre or swimming pool. We also created a SharePoint to improve collaboration and to give them and internal intranet. Finally we provided Roedean with training on Office 365, ADFS and Powershell to ensure there internal skillset was up to speed and provided help-desk support after the migration.
